Daniel, a shy four-year-old from Ghana, receives many benefits through Onthefield Vision child sponsorship. He has access to an education and health facilities that might otherwise be unavailable to him. His sponsor also sent a special cash gift for Daniel and her family, which went towards things like a food, a school uniform and a school bag. This gift also helped purchase items, which benefited other children in the community such as 10 pairs of shoes and socks and 7 umbrellas, roofing materials, nails, mattresses, quilts, and pillows.
Onthefield Vision Charity staff visit often to ensure the well-being of Daniel and his family. Regular health check ups are done and guidance given for his studies.
Daniel's parents are peasant farmers. Prior to Daniel's sponsorship, they had a small, thatch-roofed house with a mud floor. They had no domestic animals such as goats and sheep. Their conditions were so miserable that it was very difficult for them to run the family.
After the intervention of Onthefield Vision Charity, they made their concrete house with galvanized roofing sheet and now they have one pair goats and sheep, which are helping them to earn their family income.
If Daniel were to meet his sponsors he would say, "Me dawoase (Akan word used in thanking) thank you very much for your help." It is plain to see, that despite Daniel’s shyness, that in his own way, he deeply appreciates all the love and gifts that his sponsors are showering on him
